Overlooking the village green, on the way to the village pub, this lovely old stone cottage is a delightful escape from the stresses of everyday life.

Redmire is a traditional Dales farming village with a friendly part time village shop and post office only a 5 minute walk through the village. The village also has The Bolton Arms, a real ale inn serving home cooked food in the restaurant, again only a few minutes walk away. On a Thursday evening around 8.30pm, the mobile fish and chip shop stops at the cross, just a few short paces from the cottage.

Wensleydale and other areas in the Yorkshire Dales offer some of the best cycling, riding and walking in England, with its eye catching and dramatic scenery and idyllic market towns that are quaint and interesting to visit. You will find cycling routes and walks for all abilities.

Visitors in the autumn and winter months will benefit from seeing the many waterfalls in the area at their 'full' and most spectacular.

Take a train ride from Redmire on the Wensleydale Railway to the market town of Leyburn and walk the 5 miles back along 'The Shawl' with spectacular views of Wensleydale and Penhill. Wensleydale railway runs selected steam trains throughout the summer.
